RENTAL CARS
We recommend renting a car in Grand Cayman. Public transportation is limited and many island activities are easier to reach with a car, so we recommend booking a rental in advance. To rent you’ll need to be at least 21, have a valid driver’s license (a U.S. license is acceptable), your passport, and a major credit card. Remember to familiarize yourself with local driving rules: vehicles drive on the left, you may turn left on red after a full stop where allowed, and speed limits are generally 25–40 mph. There are no major highways, so most visitors get comfortable quickly. Navigation apps like Waze and Apple Maps work well on the island.
THE REEF RESORT SHUTTLE BUS
THE REEF BEACH RESORT GUESTS
A complimentary shuttle will run between Owen Roberts International Airport (GCM) and The Reef Beach Resort for guests staying at the resort. If you prefer not to rent a car (though we recommend one to explore the island), book this shared shuttle for a convenient, comfortable one-way transfer in a mini-van or bus. When reserving, please provide your flight number, airline, and arrival or departure time so pickup goes smoothly. For last-minute updates or assistance, contact Cayman Visitor Concierge at 1-345-326-2701. Book your shared shuttle in advance to ensure a seamless start to your stay.

ADDITIONAL TRAVEL INFORMATION
PASSPORTS REQUIRED, NO VISAS NEEDED
US citizens are not required to have a visa to travel to the Cayman Islands. Please make sure that your passport has at least 6 months remaining before expiration.
TRAVEL TIME TO GRAND CAYMAN
Grand Cayman is about a 1 hour, 10 minute flight from Miami. If you’re connecting from Nashville, plan for roughly a 2 hour, 20 minute flight to Miami before your connection to Grand Cayman. For travel itineraries that require a layover, we recommend allowing a minimum of 2 hours between flights.
BAGGAGE
On your trip down, checked baggage should be tagged directly through to Grand Cayman if you are not changing airlines on a connection—confirm at your departure airport.
